某啟。茲者輒以虛聲謬當嘉命。預府侯之獎譽。冠叢室之茂遷。循審愚衷誠為忝冐。此蓋某人曲雅道義俯贊佛乘。奉外護之清規。廣難思之勝事。將趨推會以卜良辰。感載乃懷。諸容面敘不宣。

I, [Qisong], state: Recently, on the basis of a hollow reputation, I have presumptuously met with an auspicious appointment, receiving the praise and promotion of the Prefect and heading an eminent advancement in the monastic assembly. Examining my foolish mind, it is truly an undeserved presumption. This is surely because you, gentlemen, with your refined grasp of Dao and righteousness, humbly support the Buddha vehicle, uphold the pure regulations of external protection, and expand this inconceivable and superior affair. I shall soon hasten to our gathering to divine an auspicious date. Cherishing gratitude in my heart, I leave the rest to be discussed in person. Respectfully submitted.
