某啟。孟夏漸熱。伏惟知縣國博尊候起居萬福。某即日蒙廕如宜。比者伏審榮奉明命臨鎮縣封。敦惠斯民雅副物望。某未遑參賀。卑情無任忻慶瞻依激切之至。謹奉啟。不宣。

I state: In early summer it is growing warm. I humbly hope that you, Erudite and Magistrate, in your revered condition and daily life, enjoy myriad blessings. Today I have received your shelter and all is well. Recently I learned with respect that you have gloriously received the luminous mandate to oversee the administrative seat of this district. You are kind and generous to this populace, properly fulfilling public expectations. I have not yet had the leisure to pay my respects and offer congratulations; in my humble feelings, I am endlessly filled with rejoicing, admiration, and the utmost earnestness. I respectfully submit this letter. [Respectfully,] no further.
