某啟。去年夏首聞移錫崇勝。喜慰喜慰。廬阜天下勝壤宗教所出。得大知識鎮嚴。乃學者之大幸也。珠上人至。果聆清規益舉。又喜之也。惟久之可矣。乞罔起他方之念尤佳。某衰老翛然客寄。弘法無力。徒欽羨於能迹耳。逾遠風論。千萬善保。因介謹此咨露。不宣。

I state: At the beginning of summer last year, I heard that you had moved your staff to Chongsheng, which brought me great joy and consolation. Mount Lu is a superior land under heaven from which the ancestral lineage arose; to have a great spiritual mentor preside over and dignify it is a great blessing for learners. When Elder Zhu arrived, I indeed heard that your pure regulations are being upheld even more, which brought me further joy. Remaining there for a long time would be proper; it would be best of all if you harbored no thoughts of going elsewhere. I am frail, old, carefree, and residing as a guest, lacking the strength to propagate the Dharma, and merely admire the traces of those who can. As our discussions across the distance grow farther apart, above all take good care of yourself. Via an intermediary, I respectfully disclose this. [Respectfully,] no further.
