某啟。萃茲勝侶允賴檀賢。雖素欽於令猷。尚未披於粹表。企慕徒切揖晤未期。秋氣稍清珍育是禱。化人行專此奉啟。不宣。

I state: Gathering these superior companions truly relies upon worthy dānapatis. Although I have long admired your fine conduct, I have not yet beheld your pure countenance. My yearning is earnest in vain, and our meeting has no fixed date. As the autumn air turns somewhat cool, I pray that you nourish yourself well. As the mendicant monk departs, I specially present this letter. [Respectfully,] no further.
