White stones are chiseled and bright, / Harboring your beautiful jade. / When the gentleman's Way is obscured, the gentleman still takes joy here. / The secluded orchid grows luxuriant, / Displaying your fragrant form. / The virtuous person is not conspicuous, / Yet the virtuous person suffers no deficiency. / Only this square inch of the mind / Serves as your foundation. / Deviating from it, things will shake you; / Exhausting it, things will plunge into chaos. / Quiet it and gather it in, / Taciturn and secluded. / Whose water is so sparkling? / It can be used for rinsing, it can be used for washing. / Whose mountain stands so loftily? / One can rest there, one can be at ease there. / Why resent living in seclusion? / Why envy being the first to lead?
