The aspiration of the worthy and heroic— / Untrammeled and unconstrained! / Rising high and striding afar— / How could the common crowd easily understand it? / Free-spirited with great integrity, / Unwavering when facing events! / To gain comfort while destroying one's reputation / Is what a gentleman would be ashamed to do. / The imperial gates are vast and azure, / The palaces towering and staggered. / Lord Wang harbors great aspirations, / About to manifest the wondrous depth in his breast. / The sea of Qin is vast and surging, / The trees of Longshan lean lovingly. / Lord Wang's departure— / Firmly set on going, do not decline! / Bestow favor upon that single district, / Raise up the exhausted people; / You shall also extend virtue to them, / Purifying the borders of Qin. / When the baleful miasma is cleared away, / The auspicious fortune will shine ever brighter. / Meritorious deeds and fame shall accompany each other, / Luxuriant for a thousand autumns!
