蒼茫天地間。流光一何遽。曾聞太古人。未見曦輪駐。才沈崦嵫雲。還上浮桑樹。山色愁裡暝。天形夢中曙。安知穆天子。龍馬神為御。萬里速乘風。又向瑤臺去。超遙侶神仙。此理當何故。不向堯年長。永使人間住。

Vast and boundless between heaven and earth, / How swiftly does flowing time pass! / I have heard of the people of high antiquity, / Yet never saw the sun's chariot pause. / Barely has it sunk into the clouds of Mount Yanzi, / Than it rises again above the Fusang tree. / Mountain colors grow dark in sorrow; / The shape of heaven dawns amidst dreams. / How could we know King Mu, the Son of Heaven, / Had dragon steeds driven by spirits? / Swiftly riding the wind for ten thousand li, / He went off again toward the Jasper Terrace. / Transcendent and distant, companion to immortals— / For what reason should this principle be? / Why not live long through the years of Yao, / And dwell forever in the human world?
