亭亭映晚景。皎皎出林端。小圃連雲淡。孤芳冐雪寒。人間殊未見。物外最先看。但欲方瓊玉。寧將勝牡丹。

Gracefully erect, reflecting the evening light; / Pure and bright, emerging above the forest edge. / The little garden joins the pale clouds; / A solitary bloom braves the snow's cold. / In the mortal world it is not yet seen at all; / Beyond worldly things it is first to be beheld. / One only wishes to liken it to fine jade; / How could it be surpassed by the tree peony?
