襄陽習子不貪官。欲友幽人擬道安。冐雪履霜臨歲杪。攀蘿挽翠到雲端。初論浮世慚年老。久對清規苦夜寒。空感知音何以報。但誇山水富君看。

The son of Xi from Xiangyang did not covet official rank; / wishing to befriend the secluded man, he modeled himself on Dao'an. / Braving snow and treading frost as the year draws to a close, / clambering vines and grasping emerald verdure, we reach the edge of the clouds. / First discussing the floating world, we feel ashamed of our advancing years; / long facing the pure regulations, we suffer the night chill. / Vainly recognizing an intimate friend, how might I repay it? / I only boast that the mountains and streams are abundant for you to view.
