詩興勾牽日日新。年光初破雨彌旬。舊遊已得新工部。佳句今逢休上人（仲靈文章大手。非特休比。此比以詩言耳）雲外馳心關水石。江邊搔首望星辰。泥深未愛尋山屐。誰與西庵杖屨親。

Poetic inspiration entices, fresh day by day; / as the year's light first breaks, rain fills a ten-day span. / From our past travels, we have already gained a new Ministry of Works official; / in fine verses, we now meet Shangren Xiu. / (Zhongling's literary talent is of a great hand, not merely comparable to Xiu; this comparison is made solely with respect to poetry.) / Beyond the clouds, his mind races, bound to water and stones; / beside the river, scratching his head, he gazes at the stars. / With mud so deep, I do not care to look for mountain clogs; / who keeps company with the staff and shoes at the Western Hermitage?
