不問猿崖鳥道深。携笻著屐伴君尋。山中桂子驚寒夜。雪後梅花逼歲陰。欲住更逢青眼顧。相看須盡白頭吟。他年若續高僧傳。未放湯休與道林。

Without questioning the depths of gibbon cliffs and bird paths, / Carrying a cane and wearing clogs, I accompany your quest. / In the mountains cassia seeds startle the cold night; / After the snow plum blossoms press upon the year’s dark end. / Wishing to stay, I again meet your gaze of favor; / Facing one another, we must exhaust the white-haired chant. / If in later years the Biographies of Eminent Monks are continued, / Do not leave out Tang Xiu and Daolin.
