平昔詩禪友契深。更來人外事幽尋。雨餘㵎壑流寒響。歲晏檉杉老翠陰。袒跣不妨陶令醉。風流多傚洛生吟。山翁解榻延清賞。未放前賢勝竹林。

For long our bond of poetry and Chan has been deep; / Going beyond the mortal world, pursuing seclusion. / After rain the ravines and gorges flow with cold murmurs; / At year’s close tamarisk and cryptomeria age in emerald shade. / Bare-chested and barefoot, no harm in Magistrate Tao's drunkenness; / Elegant and carefree, imitating the chants of the Luoyang scholars. / The old man of the mountain prepares a couch to welcome pure appreciation; / Not letting former sages surpass the Bamboo Grove.
