(Now, having used the record written by Chen Lingju as the former preface, an old preface was previously obtained which did not give the author's name, so it is not known who wrote it. Some say that judging from its beautiful literary adornment, Ying Daowen might be close to it, and others of his cohort could not have composed it. However, in the middle it narrates the reasons for his writing in a way that is not very consistent; thus it could not be avoided to make slight repairs and corrections to it, and it is still appended at the end of the collection as before.)
