The Two Modes first cleaved;
The Three Powers initially divided.
Rulers were established and states founded,
Thereby succouring these people.
Since Fu Xi and Xuan Yuan,
The five phases succeeded one another.
When the Jin dynasty's governance declined,
The Dark Heaven continued the succession.
Taizu resolved the disorder;
Shizu established prosperity.
He gave birth to our Sovereign,
Who continued the excellence of previous traces,
Absorbing the submission of the Southern Song,
And accepting tributes from the western wastes.
Scaling mountains and sailing the seas,
Myriad kingdoms came to court the King.
Heaven endowed him with divine intelligence;
He was born knowing the wondrous Way.
He established monasteries in the Dragon Court,
And recited scriptures on the Jade Isle.
The Daoist priests were mediocre and foolish,
Spreading their wings like owls over Laozi the Sage,
Dazzling others with fish eyes,
And obscuring this golden mirror.
The Sage-luminary hung a mirror,
Singling out the wild talk:
With a single word he pursued them to the north;
For ten thousand ages he serves as the south-pointing compass.
The Buddha sun hangs high;
The Dharma clouds spread wide.
The Nine Realms reflect the light;
The four kinds of born beings receive blessings.
