金骨靈牙體可誇　毫光一道透雲霞
鐵鎚任打徒勞力　百火焚燒色轉加
歷代君王曾供養　累朝天子獻香華
年年只聞開舍利　何曾頂戴老君牙

"The golden bone and miraculous tooth are worthy of praise; / A single beam of fine light pierces the clouds and mist. / Though struck at will by iron hammers, effort is in vain; / Though burned in a hundred fires, its color becomes ever brighter. / Successive generations of lords and kings once made offerings; / Emperors of repeated dynasties presented incense and flowers. / Year after year one hears only of the unsealing of the śarīra; / When has anyone ever venerated upon their crown the tooth of Lord Lao?"
