智暗情惛（其心神如不知東西南北。迷惑真如如明眼人入於黑暗之處。其情性惛而不明者也）。

Their wisdom was darkened and their dispositions murky (Their minds and spirits were as if not knowing north, south, east, or west, bewildered about Suchness, like someone with clear eyes entering a dark place, with dispositions murky and unclear).
