The guest said, 'The sound of thunder has no wish to be heard by human ears, yet the ears naturally hear it. (The Huainanzi says: Thunder is the sound of yin and yang clashing and striking together. When stimulated, it becomes thunder; when violent, it becomes a thunderbolt. How could the sound of thunder need to be heard by human ears? Rather, human ears naturally all hear it.)
