五音之以所成（樂星圖譜云。五音者。宮商角徵羽也。而配合五行。宮土也。商金。角木徵火。羽水。此五音五行。亦從此理所生成）。

that by which the five tones are completed, (The Lexing tupu says: The five tones are gong, shang, jue, zhi, and yu, and they correspond to the five phases: gong is earth, shang is metal, jue is wood, zhi is fire, and yu is water. These five tones and five phases are also formed and generated from this principle.)
