始吾以子為達矣。今子之鄙而至此乎（始初見子為通達者。今逼急而無所知者。豈不鄙陋而至於此乎）。

"At first I took you to be an accomplished person; has your baseness now reached such a point (at the outset I saw you as one who was thoroughly versed; now that you are pressed with urgency and know nothing, is this not base and vulgar to have come to this)?"
