豫讓漆身（史記。豫讓晉人。先事范中行氏。後事智伯。趙襄子殺智伯。讓欲報讐。漆身為癩。吞炭為啞。五殺不中。後仗劍而死）。

Yu Rang lacquered his body (the Shiji says: Yu Rang was a man of Jin; he first served the Fan and Zhonghang clans, and later served Earl Zhi. Viscount Xiang of Zhao killed Earl Zhi; Rang wished to take revenge, so he lacquered his body to cause sores and swallowed hot charcoal to render himself mute; after failing to assassinate him five times, he later died leaning upon his sword).
