If great height did not surpass mounds and hills, then a lame sheep could strut atop its summit. (The first 'ling' refers to mounds and hills; the second 'ling' means to disrespect or take lightly. The meaning is that if the height of Mount Tai did not surpass mounds and hills, even a lame sheep could play disrespectfully on its summit.)
