又云。孝弟也者其為仁之本歟（論語。有子所言善事父母之謂孝。善事兄長之謂弟。為仁者猶言行仁也歟）。

He also said: 'Filial piety and fraternal respect—are they not the root of humaneness?' (The Analects says: Youzi spoke of serving parents well as filial piety, and serving elder brothers well as fraternal respect; 'practicing humaneness' means to enact humaneness, does it not?).
