孔子曰。父母生之續莫大焉。父母生子傳體相續。人倫之道莫大於此（人倫之道續後為大）。

Confucius said: 'Of what parents produce, nothing is greater than continuing [the line].' When parents produce a child, the transmission of the body continues; among the ways of human relations, nothing is greater than this. (Among the ways of human relations, continuing the line is greatest.)
