未聞譏其非孝也。今之沙門。拋塵俗之纏縛。尚物外之清虛（今之僧人。拋棄塵世冤債之纏縛。高尚於萬物之外務清虛無為之道）。

and we have never heard him mock them for being unfilial. Today's śramaṇas cast aside the entanglements of the dusty world, and esteem the pure emptiness beyond mundane things; (Monks of today cast aside the entanglements of worldly debts and grievances, and loftily hold themselves beyond myriad things, devoting themselves to the pure, empty Way of non-action.)
