3.72

吾恐此非聖哲之語也（孟子曰。大而化之謂之聖。書云。知之曰明。哲謂知道者也。故客曰。我恐此佛之道。不是聖哲真誠之語也）。

I fear this is not the speech of sages and philosophers.' (Mencius said: 'To be great and to transform is called a sage.' The Shujing says: 'Knowing this is called brilliance; a philosopher refers to one who knows the Way.' Therefore the guest said: I fear that this Way of the Buddha is not the sincere speech of sages and philosophers.)
