而吾宗脫白小衲。莫不抵掌而嗤其謬也已矣（我釋門中。纔脫去俗人白衣而初著緇衣者。無不拍手嗤咲為狂謬之譚也已）。

yet the novice monks of our tradition who have just shed their white garments all clap their hands and laugh at such absurdity! (In our Buddhist school, even those who have only just shed the white robes of the laity and first donned the black robes of the monk all clap their hands and scoff at this as wild and absurd talk!).
