若求其和者。必莫知應者何也。蓋乖其所聽也（若以上文五樂求其應和而無者何。蓋為乖異於聽者也）。

'If one seeks for someone to harmonize with them, there will surely be none who knows how to respond. Why is this? Because it goes against what they are accustomed to hearing. (If one seeks someone to harmonize with the five musical works mentioned above and finds none, why is this? Because it is discordant and alien to the listeners.)
