道士鴻濛老人。邀予登玉女閣。啟經藏出函匣觀道籍錄。得西昇經首帙。讀其文曰。吾師化遊天竺。善入泥洹（泥洹者涅槃也）。

The Daoist elder Hongmeng invited me to ascend the Pavilion of the Jade Maiden, opened the scripture canon, brought out cases and boxes, and examined the records of Daoist texts. There we found the first fascicle of the *Sūtra of Western Ascension*. Reading its text, it said: "My master traveled to India to teach, and skillfully entered nirvāṇa" (nirvāṇa means extinction).
