儒吾之師曰魯仲尼。仲尼師聃龍（孔子家語適周篇。子曰。周有老聃博古知今是吾師也。既問禮而歎曰。老子猶龍也）。

'The master of my Confucianism was Zhongni of Lu. Zhongni took the dragon Dan as his master.' (In the 'Going to Zhou' chapter of the School Sayings of Confucius, the Master says, 'In Zhou there is Lao Dan, who is broadly learned in antiquity and understands the present; he is my master.' After asking about ritual, he sighed and said, 'Laozi is like a dragon.')
