4.22

至道恢弘。聖人極唱。出世妙典。非俗所知。不為譽者貴而毀者賤（大聖教典。下以稱譽而貴毀謗而賤）。

'The utmost Way is grand; it is the ultimate utterance of the sages, a wondrous scripture transcending the world, not something the worldly can know. It is not made noble by those who praise it, nor made base by those who defame it. (The scriptures of the Great Sage are not noble due to praise, nor base due to slander.)
