4.27

客曰。子言佛教。義高嵩泰。理濬江海。文同翻錦。句若揀金。奚不以佛經答吾所問。而復以詩書合異於同耶。

The guest said: 'You say that the Buddha's teaching has meanings as high as Mount Song and Mount Tai, principles as deep as the rivers and seas, text like overturned brocade, and phrases like sifted gold. Why do you not answer my questions using Buddhist sūtras, but instead use the Odes and Documents to harmonize differences into unity?'
