刪詩書（刪除削也。定公元年。季氏強僭。其陽虎作亂專政夫子退而削去詩中繁文異辭書中三墳三典）。

He edited the Classic of Poetry and the Classic of Documents. (To edit means to excise and prune. In the first year of Duke Ding, the Ji clan was strong and usurped authority, while Yang Hu made trouble and monopolized the government; the Master withdrew and pruned away superfluous writing and aberrant words in the Classic of Poetry, as well as the Three Graves and Five Canons in the Classic of Documents.)
