Decree to the Tripitaka Upādhyāya Amoghavajra: The late Tripitaka Master Vajrabodhi was endowed by Heaven with exceptional excellence and imbued with balanced harmony. His consciousness penetrated the four modes of birth, and his mind relied on the six perfections. Coming eastward from the Western Regions with his monk's staff, he maintained pure conduct throughout his person and rescued beings with a compassionate heart. The flower of enlightenment shone outwardly, and the torch of wisdom was bright within. Guiding the deluded multitudes, he realized and penetrated perfect tranquility. Secretly transmitting the seal of Dharma, he quietly manifested nirvāṇa. His robe and bowl remain in vain; his virtuous fame has passed away forever. Since his teachings can be handed down to posterity, ritual mandates honoring the deceased. It is fitting to proclaim an illustrious name to accord with this honor: He is posthumously granted the title of Specially Advanced Officer with the Rank of Kaifu Yitong Sansi, and is further posthumously granted the title of Tripitaka Master of the Great Propagation of the Teaching.
