和上道行圓明。慈悲普洽。少嬰常疾。軫慮殊深。節物所霑。勞此申謝也。

"The Upādhyāya's practice of the Way is fully luminous, and his compassion extends everywhere. Being afflicted from youth with chronic illness, Our concern and sorrow are exceedingly deep. These seasonal goods you received are not worth the labor of presenting this thanksgiving."
