6.18

沙門常清等言。伏奉中使美庭瓌宣　聖慰。贈亡僧惠堅絹二十匹。跪捧慚惶。悲懼交集。沙門常清等誠惶誠恐。常清等並受業惠堅。積有年歲。道不精苦。上延光師。伏蒙　聖慈。眷念殊贈。曲臨末品。微僧不勝悲幸。謹奉表陳謝以聞。沙門常清等誠惶誠恐謹言。

The monk Changqing and others state: Humbly receiving Palace Commissioner Jiang Tinggui, who proclaimed the imperial condolences and bestowed twenty bolts of silk upon the deceased monk Huijian, kneeling to receive it we were ashamed and fearful, our grief and reverence mingled. The monk Changqing and others speak with sincere fear and sincere trepidation. Changqing and the others all received instruction under Huijian for many years; our practice of the Way has not been refined and arduous, yet above we extended the luster of our master. Humbly receiving Your Majesty's compassion, in your loving remembrance you made an exceptional gift, specially stooping down to our lowly rank. We humble monks cannot bear our sorrow and good fortune. Respectfully presenting this memorial, we state our thanks to be heard. The monk Changqing and others speak with sincere fear and sincere trepidation.
