6.49

沙門惠勝言。伏奉中使李憲誠宣　聖旨。特賜錦綵縑緗共四十匹。捧跪慚荷。歡懼無任。伏惟。寶應元聖文武皇帝陛下。諸佛願身普賢密行為弘大化屈已人尊在於微僧偏霑　殊澤。然普賢之法。本是先師所傳之典。復為　陛下所付之道。微僧遠感先師遺訓。仰慚　聖主深恩。習効古人獻芹之事有茲涓滴。上達　聖情。不意　天恩寵賜過甚。便以所賜啟獻先師遺身影塔。為　國念誦。諸會道場。發願懇誠。冀憑佛力。永保皇家。不勝戴荷之至。謹附中使李憲誠奉表陳謝以聞。沙門惠勝誠歡誠賀謹言。

Śramaṇa Huisheng states: I humbly received the imperial decree conveyed by Palace Commissioner Li Xiancheng, specially bestowing forty bolts of brocades, colored silks, fine plain silks, and light yellow silks. Holding them while kneeling, I am ashamed and grateful, overwhelmed with joy and dread. I humbly reflect that His Majesty the Baoying Yuansheng Wenwu Emperor is the vow-body of all Buddhas and the esoteric practice of Samantabhadra; to propagate the great transformation, you condescend your imperial majesty, so that this humble monk has particularly received this extraordinary favor. However, the Dharma of Samantabhadra was originally the scripture transmitted by my late master, and is furthermore the Path entrusted to Your Majesty. From afar, this humble monk is moved by the late master's bequeathed teachings, and looking up, I am ashamed before the holy ruler's profound favor. Emulating the ancients' offering of humble water dropwort, I present this trickle to convey my feelings to Your Majesty's sagacious mind. I did not anticipate that heavenly grace and favored gifts would be so excessive. I have immediately used what was bestowed to present as an offering before my late master's shadow pagoda of his bequeathed body, reciting for the state and making vows of utmost sincerity across the various practice arenas, hoping to rely on the Buddha's power to perpetually preserve the Imperial House. Unable to bear the utmost gratitude, I respectfully entrust Palace Commissioner Li Xiancheng to present this memorial of thanks and bring it to Your Majesty's attention. Śramaṇa Huisheng, with true joy and true congratulations, respectfully speaks.
