18.68

有一沙門。不彈指來小便。漈清中鬼面。厲鬼大恚。欲殺沙門。沙門持戒。厲鬼隨逐。伺覓其短。不能得便。沙門後作摩波利。有人上此僧物者。即於坐上。得羅漢道（出一卷雜譬喻經）。

There was a śramaṇa who came to urinate without snapping his fingers, splashing the face of a ghost in the privy. The fierce ghost became furious and wished to kill the śramaṇa. But the śramaṇa upheld the precepts, so although the fierce ghost followed him, spying out his flaws, it could find no vantage. Later, when the śramaṇa acted as a mahāparināyaka and someone offered these provisions to the saṅgha, right upon his seat he attained the path of an arhat.
