3.60

明月摩尼珠。多在龍腦中。若眾生有福德者。自然得之。猶如地獄。自生治罪之器。此寶亦名如意珠。常出一切寶物。衣服飲食隨意所欲。得此珠者。毒不能害。火不能燒。或云。是帝釋所執。金剛與阿修羅鬪時。碎落閻浮提。又言。諸過去久遠佛舍利。法既滅盡。變成此珠以為利益（出大智論第五十九卷）。

The bright-moon maṇi jewel is mostly found in the brains of dragons. If sentient beings have merit, they obtain it spontaneously, just as in the hells implements for punishing guilt arise spontaneously. This jewel is also named the wish-fulfilling jewel; it constantly produces all precious objects, clothing, food, and drink according to one's desires. One who obtains this jewel cannot be harmed by poison or burned by fire. Alternatively, it is said that it was held by Śakra, and when he fought with the asuras, it shattered and fell onto Jambudvīpa. It is also said that when the Dharma of the relics of Buddhas of the distant past had completely perished, they transformed into this jewel to bring benefit (from the fifty-ninth fascicle of the *Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa*).
