乃至鳩那羅。次第行至德叉尸羅國。彼國人聞出半由旬嚴治諸道。處處置水以待來眾。時諸人民即便說偈。
Eventually Kuṇāla proceeded in turn until he reached the kingdom of Takṣaśilā. The people of that country heard of it, came out half a yojana, adorned and repaired all the roads, and placed water everywhere to await the approaching assembly. The people then spoke a verse:
