仙人唐自苦 服氣除穢食
空食根葉果 愛欲不能盡
釋迦牟尼子 衣食足溫甘
不捨人所資 頻頭山浮提
"The ṛṣi toils in vain,
Consuming qi and abandoning foul foods,
Eating only roots, leaves, and fruits,
Yet cannot extinguish craving and desire.
The sons of Śākyamuni
Have clothes and food in warm and sweet abundance,
Never relinquishing what men rely upon,
Yet are steady as Mount Vindhya in Jambudvīpa."
