不修梵行故　不得年少財
思惟古昔事　眠地如曲弓
不修於梵行　不得年少財
猶如老鵠鳥　守死於空池

Because they did not cultivate the brahma-faring,
They did not obtain wealth in their youth.
Brooding over bygone affairs,
They sleep on the ground like bent bows.
Because they did not cultivate the brahma-faring,
They did not obtain wealth in their youth;
Just like old herons,
Waiting for death by an empty pond.
