時象王。取好藕根淨洗。授與世尊。如是三月（出僧祇律第十一卷）。

At that time, the elephant king gathered fine lotus roots, washed them clean, and offered them to the Bhagavat; thus it was for three months. (Extracted from the eleventh fascicle of the Mahāsāṃghika Vinaya.)
