諸水牛過去。未久有諸梵志。大眾群輩仙人之等從道而來。時彼獼猴亦復毀辱。諸梵志等。即時捕捉脚蹋殺之。於是樹神即復頌曰。
Not long after the buffaloes had passed, there was a great crowd of brahmacārins, ṛṣis, and others coming along the road. At that time, that monkey likewise insulted them. The brahmacārins and others immediately caught him and trampled him to death with their feet. Thereupon the tree spirit spoke a verse again:
