Those with indistinct cries are: first, Hahava (Azhawuzhawu); second, Utpala. In the Hahava hell, also blown by the extremely cold wind, their skin and flesh peel off and they utter the cry "Hahava". In the Utpala hell, an extremely great cold wind blows and peels the skin and flesh from the body, and from within the body, iron leaves spontaneously emerge and wrap around their bodies, like an utpala flower. Because of slandering the worthy and holy, they fall into this hell. Those without cries are: first, Kumuda; second, Sauganadhika; third, Puṇḍarīka; fourth, Padmo. The extremely cold wind blows and causes their bodies to swell fully; according to these four types of marks, they experience suffering and groan. Because of slandering the worthy and holy, they fall into those four kinds of hells, experiencing immeasurable suffering at all times. All of these great cold hells are situated between the four continents, adjoining the bottom of the Iron Ring Mountains, facing upward and dwelling in darkness. Cold winds destroy their bodies, and great fires burn them like a burning bamboo grove, the sound of crackling clashing together. There are also other sentient beings experiencing suffering therein; all of them slandered the worthy and holy and receive such suffering. As the Bhagavat said in a verse:
