The ghost asked, "Are there any further instructions?" The Bhagavat told him: "Relinquish your original form, put on the three Dharma robes, become a śramaṇa, and enter the city of Vṛji, teaching and instructing everywhere: 'The Tathāgata has appeared in the world to deliver those who are undelivered and cause them to attain liberation. He is the most honoured, supreme, auspicious protector and field of merit. He has now delivered the little boy Nakula and subdued the evil ghost Viśa. You may go to him and receive transformation.'" At that time, the ghost Viśa proclaimed these words in the country of Vṛji. When the elder Subhūti heard these words, he leaped with boundless joy, and leading a multitude of eighty-four thousand people, went to the Bhagavat (drawn from the *Ekottarika-āgama*, fascicle 8).
