In a past age, there was a cat that was hungry, thirsty, emaciated, and weak. Lying in wait at a burrow, it sought young rats. When a young rat came out, it swiftly seized and swallowed it. The young rat was small and entered the belly alive, eating its internal organs. The cat, confused and agonized, ran wildly east and west, and finally died. The foolish mendicant does not properly guard his body and mind; seeing women, he grasps at appearances. (Extracted from the forty-seventh fascicle of the Saṃyuktāgama.)
