Good son, when a bodhisattva cultivates these precepts, he immediately comes to abide in the initial stage of immobility, like Mount Sumeru, which the fierce Vairambhā winds cannot shake. When a bodhisattva abides in this stage, he is not shaken by forms, sounds, scents, or tastes; he does not fall into the hells, the animal realm, or the hungry ghosts; he does not retrogress to the stage of śrāvakas or pratyekabuddhas; and he is not dispersed by the heterodox winds of differing views." (Drawn from the eleventh fascicle of the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra)
