爾時宮內眷屬懊惱不可具述。時大妃耶輸向車匿說。如我無夫之婦。已見自至。從家而出行至山林。使我孤單獨在空室。何得令心而不破裂。即說偈言。
At that time, the grief and distress of the family within the palace could not be fully described. Then the chief consort Yaśodharā said to Chandaka: “A husbandless woman such as I has already seen him take his departure. Leaving home, he traveled to the mountain forests, leaving me desolate and alone in an empty chamber. How can my heart not break?” She then spoke a verse:
