At that time, the Buddha told the Four Heavenly Kings: "You shall offer me agate." He also told Śakra: "You shall offer me gold and silver." He also told the demon king and the Brahmā king: "You shall offer me heavenly artisans." He also told the dragon king Śukla, the asura Rāhu, and others: "You shall offer me luminous moon jewels, cintāmaṇi gems, and the like, to serve as lamp illumination for the stūpas." The devas, nāga kings, and others each made offerings as commanded. The World-Honoured One, having received them, through his spiritual power, in the space of a single thought, all the stūpas were completed. The earth shook in six ways. The stūpas emitted a great light extending from Mount Gandhamādana directly to the ordination platform, transforming into terraces of gold and silver. The terraces reached up to Akaniṣṭha, wherein there were ten billion Buddhas expounding various supreme and wondrous dharmas, praising the merits of upholding the precepts and reproaching those who violate them.
