17.76

教傳三藏　慈訓八因　含情普洽
機悟玄津　威陽夏烈　溫柔晞春
枯槁日久　光㵎爽神　卷即納福
舒即慧申　思之不已　惟益惟新
實稱慈父　巧號能仁　周孔老教
孰與陶均

The teachings are transmitted in the Tripiṭaka;
Compassionate instructions present the eight causes.
Sentient feelings are universally nourished;
Capacities awaken to the mystic ford.
Awe-inspiring sunlight blazes in summer;
Mild and gentle, it basks like spring.
Dried and withered for a long time,
Its radiance enlivens and refreshes the spirit.
When rolled up, it receives blessings;
When unrolled, wisdom is extended.
Pondering it without cessation,
It only brings benefit and is ever new.
Truly called the Compassionate Father,
Skillfully named the Capable Benevolent One.
Among the teachings of the Duke of Zhou, Confucius, and Laozi,
Who can match his universal molding?
